Volunteer firefighters have served the city and surrounding areas of San Juan Bautista since 1868. Even in todays fast pace life our fire department still carries the tradition of being 100% volunteer. We respond on average to over 320 emergency calls a year in the city of San Juan Bautista and the San Juan valley and canyon. These include but are not limited to: Structures fires, vehicle fires, vegetation fires, motor vehicle accidents, emergency medical aids, public assists, hazardous materials, and technical rescues. We also like to keep very involved in the community events such as: Holliday block parties, Parades, arts and crafts festivals, flea markets, and grade school and high school awareness programs.
